2018 Cabernet Sauvignon

2018 Cabernet Sauvignon
Redwood Valley AVA

Appearance: Dense and nearly opaque with deep garnet hues, showcasing the richness and concentration of the vintage.

Nose: Bold and inviting, with aromas of dark fruit, blackberry compote, and cedar sweetness. Hints of vanilla and dried herbs add warmth and complexity.

Palate: Full-bodied with a layered, mouth-coating texture. Ripe blackberries and dark cherries lead the way, supported by notes of cocoa and spice. Despite its richness, the wine remains agile and focused, with balanced acidity and well-integrated tannins.

Finish: Long and structured, with lingering notes of dark fruit, cedar, and a gentle spice, leaving a clean, polished impression.

This organically grown Cabernet Sauvignon from the Silva Road Estate pairs beautifully with grilled steaks, roasted root vegetables, and sharp cheeses—perfect for both dinner parties and quiet nights in.

Tasting Notes
A sweet aroma of herbal cedar and dark cherry plum is consistent with past Silva Road Cabernet Sauvignons. This vineyard builds a bridge of very pretty and elegant Cabernet fruit, with old world and new world harmonies. A lovely backbone of pretty French Oak tying together scents of black pepper, aged Black Walnut and dark stone fruits. On the mouth there are essences of tart cherry and ripe plum. Bright acidity keeps the mouth alive. Savory with palate length and weight are the lasting flavors and sensations. Lovely in its youth, this wine will be exquisite when allowed to age.
Vineyard Notes
Silva Road Vineyard is owned by Ethan Silva and his sister, Josephine and is located in the middle reaches of the Redwood Valley AVA, at an elevation of 975 feet. Here, the Silva Family grows organically farmed Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon on a rocky bench above the headwaters of the Russian River. In contrast to surrounding growing regions, the Redwood Valley is considerably cooler than other areas in the Ukiah valley, producing Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon that slowly matures with elegance and pedigree.
